Things get steamy in the desert over the summer months, and INNdulge, the leading gay resort in Palm Springs, is inviting travelers to experience the sultry days and simply incredible balmy nights with their $99 Summer Special. The offer is valid for Sunday-Thursday stays through September 15, in the hotel’s non-pool Superior rooms.  Deep discounts are also being offered on poolside rooms and weekend stays, as well.

“We’re keeping the party going,”  says INNdulge co-owner Jon Jackson.  “We’re known as the social place to stay in Palm Springs and we aim to keep our hotel crowded all summer long.”

August in Palm Springs attracts a large European crowd.  They come to the vintage resort town for its midcentury-modern architecture that is more refined than Vegas, yet more reposeful than Los Angeles.  There’s plenty to do, from the springs to the golf courses and spas.  Palm Springs is a hiker’s paradise with numerous hidden trails along the Coachella Valley and the shopping cannot be beat, with major retailers in Downtown Palm Springs and on El Paseo Drive in Palm Desert.

“There are tons of bars, restaurants and nightclubs catering to the gay crowds,” continues Jackson.  “Adding to thousands of gay tourists in Palm Springs are the residents, nearly half of whom are gay.”

Since the 1920s, Palm Springs has been the desert playground for gay men and women.  50s-era stars like Rock Hudson and Tab Hunter made the town their second home because it allowed them to escape the hustle and bustle of Hollywood and enjoy sexual freedom without fear of being outed.  It is that same sexual freedom that continues to be a popular draw for gay travelers today.

In its 21-year history, INNdulge has always been a place to unwind.  Jackson and his partner purchased the inn with its epic mountain views, six years ago.   Since then, they have made significant improvements to the property, including refurnishing the entire property this spring will all new furniture, linens, fixtures and carpets.

The one fixture that has not changed — and never will under Jackson’s watch  — is the inn’s magnificent kidney-shaped pool that is perfectly chilled in the hot summer months.  The pool is a centerpiece of their impressive courtyard that features immaculately landscaped lawns and walkways with large modern figure sculptures by artist Mavis McClure.

“The courtyard at INNdulge is meant to foster friendships among guests,” says Jackson.  It has played host to significant events including weddings, birthdays, reunions and more.  There is nothing more fun than a spontaneous midnight pool party, a frequent occurrence during the summer months.  Next to the pool is a 24-hour, 12-man keyhole whirlpool spa.

“We love that INNdulge has been the backdrop of more lifelong memories for gay men than any other hotel in the Warm Sands section of Palm Springs,” Jackson  adds. “We’re making more incredible memories this summer!”
