Back in May we launched Bear World TV and while I was in New York City for the launch, I had the pleasure of staying at The Bernic Hotel in Midtown.
New York City is one of the busiest and craziest cities in the world. People enjoy the buzz and rush that visiting Manhattan provides and there’s so much to see & do. But, after a day of exploring you need somewhere to relax, switch off and recharge. That’s where The Bernic is so special.
Superbly located, it’s just a short walk to Grand Central Station, Times Square, Rockefeller Centre, Broadway and the UN… plus all the other attractions in Midtown. However, when you step over the threshold of the hotel you’re met with a cool calm environment, which goes all the way from the sneak lobby up to the sublimely decorated and comfortable rooms.
As the hotel is brand new, it is one of the best appointed hotels I’ve stayed in for a long time. The rooms are so well thought through with lots of little touches that make your stay easier such as USB sockets in the lamp bases, so you can charge your phones and devices by the bedside, a bluetooth speaker for music, Apple TV for streaming, a nespresso machine and a mini fridge. The ultimate touch of luxury comes in the form of heated floor tiles in the bathroom!
Continuing the luxurious and relaxing touches, a surprise awaits you on the roof. The hotel has an amazing rooftop cocktail bar, the perfect way to toast your amazing day in NYC. There’s also the excellent Allora Ristorante in the lobby, featuring Italian-American cuisine offering an excellent menu and pairing the food with a great collection of wines and cocktails. I also have to give an honourable mention to Foxy Johns next door, which is a great bar and restaurant too.
You can build and equip a superb hotel, but its nothing without attentive and caring staff, and The Bernic has superb staff. Everything we needed was catered for, there’s business services, dry cleaning and attentive housekeeping.
As of 2016, there are approximately 91,500 hotel rooms in New York City, and although you can obviously get amazing rooms if you pay the high price, I strongly believe that The Bernic offers everything a visitor needs, plus a lot more, for a bargain price.
